In Memory Of Sandy Root...
I used catch a ride to the races with Bob and Sandy as a young kid and sit in the stands with her at Superior and Proctor. Countless thanks to the Root's for their kindness and friendship to myself and my family for nearly 30 years




   This sign was created as a tribute and thank you to Bob Root upon his apparent retirement from dirt track racing. Bob raced in 5 decades throughout the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and through 2004. The sign was presented to him at the ABC Raceway where he may have run his last laps at the season ending Red Clay Classic.

Thanks Rapid Robert for all of your years of dedication, inspiration, and entertainment while you carved out your place in history on the northern dirt tracks!   
The new Feature Winner sign debuted at the 2004 Red Clay Classic. Jimmy Mars piloted the #1 ride of Paul Harelstad's mod to a sweep as well as doubling up in his own late model to become only the second driver in the history of the event to win two different divisions in one night.
